Bob Ayres who produces the TNTY series, founded in 1977 and booked The Other Cafe for 16 years.

Our plan is to post stories and memories of the early days of the SF comedy scene. The stories categorized as:

• from performers
• from audience members,
• from partners, and
• from the other cafe softball team

The OTHER CAFE REUNION SHOW – a live benefit show bringing together the comedians, employees, audiences and media folks who enjoyed that small corner for comedy IS being planned.

The Other Cafe witnessed first hand the beginning careers of comedians Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Jay leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Poundstone, Richard Lewis, Bob Goldthwait, Rob Schneider, Kevin Pollak, Bobby Slayton, Michael Davis, and many many others.
